After more than a decade away, Silversun Pickups are finally heading back to Australia this July, marking their first visit in 14 years.
The LA alt-rock band will tour in support of their seventh studio album Tenterhooks, released in February, bringing a mix of new material and long-time fan favourites to stages across the country. Melbourne gets its turn on Tuesday 28 July, when the band plays the Forum.

Known for their dense, emotionally charged sound, Silversun Pickups built their reputation in the mid-2000s with the release of Carnavas. The album introduced them to a global audience, driven by the breakout single Lazy Eye, which remains a staple of their live sets.
They followed it up with Swoon in 2009, earning a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2010 and producing another hit with Panic Switch. Since then, the band has continued to evolve, building a catalogue that balances sharp guitar work with atmospheric production and introspective songwriting.
The upcoming shows will feature tracks from Tenterhooks, including The Wreckage, New Wave and Long Gone, alongside older material that has defined their career.
Silversun Pickups have long been known for their live performances, having played major international festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza and Osheaga, and toured with acts including Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, OK Go and Wolfmother. That experience tends to translate into shows that feel both tightly controlled and unpredictable in the best way.
Joining them on the tour is New Zealand indie-rock band Coast Arcade.
The Australian leg kicks off in Perth on 21 July before moving through Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney, wrapping up in Auckland on 31 July.
Pre-sale tickets go live from 9am AEDT on Monday 30 March, with general sale from 9am AEDT on Tuesday 31 March via Destroy All Lines.
