Bachelor Girl are heading back on the road, kicking off a national tour this August to celebrate a reimagined version of their breakthrough album Waiting for the Day, with Melbourne set to host the opening night.
The Waiting For The Day Redux tour will launch at Brunswick Ballroom on 8 August, before heading to Brisbane, Adelaide and wrapping up in Sydney on 18 October. There will also be a show at the Frankston Arts Centre on 4 September. Tickets are on sale now, with fans getting their first chance to hear refreshed versions of the band’s most loved tracks performed live.

The tour arrives alongside new music, with the duo today releasing an updated version of Treat Me Good, featuring Jessica Mauboy. The track offers a modern take on the 1998 original, blending the song’s familiar hooks with a fresh energy that reflects how its message has held up over time.
“Treat Me Good was written three decades ago, and we still mean it. It’s been reinvigorating to create this full circle moment,” said Tania Doko.
“Jess Mauboy’s contribution is the prize here, with the song now taking on an added sisterhood narrative – standing for the self, AND each other. It’s been humbling to learn how much the song meant to Jess, from her busking Bachelor Girl tunes in Darwin, to singing her face off with us in the studio while 7 months pregnant with Mia. It’s a ‘pinch us’ moment all round.”
“The first twenty seconds of Jess opening her mouth to sing was gob smacking,” adds James Roche. “We all looked like the kid from ‘Home Alone’.”
“Treat Me Good has always been one of those songs that instantly takes you back,” says Mauboy. “I grew up hearing Bachelor Girl on the radio, so getting the chance to re-record such an iconic Australian song with them felt really special.”
” What I love most about it is how real it feels, its message about respect and love still resonates today. Recording this new version together was a beautiful way to honour the heart of the original while sharing that emotion with a whole new generation,” she said.
The single is the first taste of Waiting For The Day: Artist Sessions, due out in June, which sees 13 Australian artists join the duo across a 15-track rework of the original album.
