The City of Knox’s Immerse Festival is returning this winter, with more than 20 free art experiences set to take over parks, laneways and public spaces across Melbourne’s east from 26 June to 26 July 2026.
Now in its eleventh year, the annual festival will once again turn Knox into a large-scale open-air gallery, bringing art out of traditional venues and into everyday spaces where locals can stumble across installations, performances and interactive experiences while moving through the community.
The month-long program will feature a mix of pop-up activations, exhibitions, live performances and large-scale artworks created by artists from across Victoria. Visitors can expect colourful installations, creative surprises and family-friendly experiences spread throughout the municipality, encouraging people to explore familiar spaces in entirely new ways.
Unlike traditional gallery events, Immerse focuses on accessibility and discovery, making creativity part of the streetscape rather than something confined to a ticketed venue or dedicated arts precinct. The festival has built a strong reputation for turning unexpected corners of Knox into temporary creative playgrounds and gathering spaces.
Organisers say the event is designed for all ages, whether visitors are dedicated arts lovers, families looking for school holiday activities or locals simply curious to see public spaces transformed through art.
Over the years, Immerse has become one of the standout cultural events in Melbourne’s outer east, drawing visitors into Knox with its blend of free programming, interactive experiences and community-driven atmosphere.
More details about this year’s installations, performances and participating artists are expected to be released closer to the festival launch.
