Melbourne is set to host one of the biggest live music events in Australian history this September, with The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend The Celebration Concert bringing an extraordinary lineup of global and local stars to Rod Laver Arena for one night only.
The massive celebration concert will take place on Sunday 20 September 2026 at the venue that became synonymous with John Farnham’s legendary career.
Having performed at Rod Laver Arena an astonishing 94 times to more than one million people, Farnham personally invited every artist appearing at the concert, creating a once-in-a-generation tribute to one of Australia’s most beloved voices.

The lineup already includes Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes, Mahalia Barnes, Kate Ceberano, Diesel, Hans, Human Nature, Jack Jones, Richard Marx, Jessica Mauboy, Ruby Rodgers, Jon Stevens, Mitch Tambo, Keith Urban, Mark Vincent and Ross Wilson, with more names still to be announced.
International icons Celine Dion and Hugh Jackman will also join the celebration via satellite performances.
Adding even more scale to the event, Farnham’s longtime musical director Chong Lim will lead the John Farnham Band alongside a 38-piece orchestra and choir, reimagining classics including You’re the Voice, Burn for You, Age of Reason, Two Strong Hearts and Pressure Down for a spectacular live audience.
Beyond the music, the concert will also support an important cause, helping raise vital funds and awareness for Head and Neck Cancer Australia following Farnham’s own cancer journey.
John Farnham said, “I’ve been incredibly lucky to spend my life doing what I love, and even luckier to have Australians embrace my music the way they have.”
“This night isn’t about me — it’s about giving something back and supporting a cause that means a great deal to me,” he said.
The show is a tribute to John Farnham and he will not be performing.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Tuesday 2 June via Ticketek.
