Cherry season is set to return to the Yarra Valley, with CherryHill Orchards unveiling a calendar of spring and summer events celebrating blossoms, local produce and the much-loved tradition of picking your own cherries.
The season begins with Bloom & Graze on 12 and 13 September at the Coldstream orchard, inviting visitors to enjoy a weekend of food, wine, shopping and entertainment among the trees. Guests can wander through the orchard, discover local producers and market stalls, and soak up the spring atmosphere while getting ready to pick fresh cherries later in the season.
The annual Blossom Festival will then take over CherryHill Orchards from 19 September to 4 October, transforming the Wandin East orchard into a picture-perfect spring destination. With cherry trees covered in white blossoms, visitors can enjoy a relaxed day outdoors with family and friends, including picnics, photo opportunities and countryside views.
As the weather warms up, cherry picking season officially begins, giving visitors the chance to experience the orchard first-hand. Cherry-picking at Coldstream runs from 9 November to 31 December, with guests able to explore the newer orchard, enjoy views across the region and relax in the picnic areas, cafe and tasting space.
The historic Wandin East orchard will open for cherry picking from 25 November until 9 January. As the location where CherryHill’s first cherry trees were planted in 1940, the orchard offers a traditional farm experience complete with rolling lawns, scenic views and plenty of seasonal charm.
