Melbourne is getting a brand new market, with 50 emerging Australian small businesses set to take over Abbotsford Convent for the inaugural Making Moves Market.
Held on Sunday 20 September, the free one-day event will bring together founders, makers and entrepreneurs behind some of Australia’s next big brands.

Shoppers can browse stalls spanning fashion, beauty, homewares, food and lifestyle, while meeting the people behind the businesses and hearing the stories of how their side hustles became thriving brands.
The market is being presented by Australia Post as part of its Big Boss Energy campaign, giving small businesses a chance to showcase their products and connect with new customers.

It is the first market of its kind for Australia Post, with plans to potentially take the concept to other Australian cities in the future.
Along with shopping, visitors can grab a free coffee from the Peak-Me-Up coffee van, tuck into food from A1 Bakery, Toasta and Cobb Lane Bakery, and enjoy DJs, live music and entertainment.

Families can also make use of a dedicated kids’ area, while a sensory-friendly space and quiet zone will provide a calmer option.
The Making Moves Market runs from 9am to 4pm at Abbotsford Convent, 1 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford, with free entry.
