Melbourne is getting a medieval makeover this November, with Renfair Rave bringing costumes, DJs, roving entertainers and fantasy fun to the Royal Botanic Gardens for one night only.
Taking place on Friday 20 November as part of Live At The Gardens, the immersive event comes from the team behind Melbourne Renfair and invites guests to swap the traditional rave outfit for elf ears, corsets and medieval costumes, although dressing up is not required.
The fantasy-themed night will feature medieval décor, dragons, sorcery and plenty of music, with Melbourne DJs Adriana, Milo Eastwood, SWEETIE and Yacht Club DJs on the line-up.
Milo Eastwood, a festival circuit regular and PBS FM breakfast host, will be joined by Adriana, a familiar face on Melbourne’s community radio scene, while SWEETIE will bring colourful and playful sets. Yacht Club DJs will round things out with their trademark mash-ups and genre-hopping party anthems.
“People have been asking us to do this for a long time, so it’s great to finally bring Renfair Rave to Melbourne,” said Melbourne Renfair founder, Konga.
“While we’re taking elements of what people love about the Melbourne Renfair Festival, this is an entirely new event. We’re combining the medieval fantasy world with the energy and spectacle of a great rave. If you love music and being part of something a little different, this is for you.”
The licensed event is suitable for all ages, with food and drinks available to purchase. BYO alcohol and food is not permitted.
Presale tickets open at 11am on Friday 18 September for 48 hours or until allocation runs out. General sale begins at 12pm Monday 21 September. More information is here.
