In a first for Australia’s bar scene, world-renowned cocktail institution Death & Co will make its international debut in Melbourne, opening this November at 87 Flinders Lane.
Founded in New York in 2006, Death & Co is widely credited with shaping the modern craft cocktail movement, reviving interest in classic recipes while pioneering innovative new creations.

Its U.S. venues in New York, Los Angeles, Denver, and Washington D.C. have become destinations for cocktail lovers worldwide, winning accolades such as America’s Best Cocktail Bar and World’s Best Cocktail Menu at Tales of the Cocktail.
The Melbourne flagship will bring the full Death & Co experience to Australian shores, thanks to extensive training for its new venue and bar managers in the United States. They immersed themselves in the brand’s culture, hospitality philosophy, and signature service style to ensure authenticity.

On the menu, visitors can expect Death & Co classics including the Naked & Famous (Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Chartreuse, Aperol, Lime) and the Oaxaca Old Fashioned (El Jimador Reposado, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Agave Syrup, Angostura Bitters). Alongside these staples, Melbourne’s bar team will also serve new drinks inspired by local flavours and produce.
The opening signals the brand’s next chapter of global expansion, with a Brisbane location to follow soon after.
