After taking Melbourne’s dining scene by storm, the team behind Port Melbourne’s coveted Shelanous – the two-month-waitlist restaurant adored by locals and even international stars like Katy Perry – is back with a new experience. Their next act, Shelly, opens Wednesday 5 November in Caulfield, promising to redefine immersive dining in Melbourne’s southeast.
Like its sibling, Shelly will offer a multi-sensory 10-course degustation with matching drinks, blending fine dining with theatrical flair. But this isn’t just a sequel — it’s a bigger, bolder, high-voltage experience.
The venue features a 30-seat dining room under a dazzling starlight ceiling, a dedicated Sense Bar, and a design that feels equal parts luxury and spectacle. For the first time, limited walk-ins will also be available.
Shelly’s focus is on connection as much as cuisine. Guests will share long tables, interact with performers and chefs, and experience a flowing narrative through food, sound, and light. Each dish is fully kosher-certified and halal-friendly, with the option of a “trust the chef” mini degustation for those wanting a taste of the experience.
“The demand for Shelanous since opening has been overwhelming,” said co-owner and chef Rony Parienty. “We’re constantly booked out two months in advance and we love seeing people enjoy the experience we deliver alongside the great food and drinks. But, with a waiting list this long, we knew it was time to open another location.”
With Shelly, Parienty and his team are expanding the Shelanous philosophy – equal parts flavour, flamboyance and storytelling – into a new space designed for energy, theatre and shared joy.
