Iconic New Zealand band Split Enz are reuniting for their first Australian shows in more than two decades, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their debut album Mental Notes with a national tour in May 2026.
The legendary group, who were recently announced as headliners for Bluesfest Byron Bay, will also play four headline shows across Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide as part of The Forever Enz Tour.
Melbourne fans will be the first to see the reunited band when they perform at Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday 13 May, before moving on to Sydney’s ICC Theatre, Perth’s RAC Arena and the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
The reunion features original members Tim Finn, Neil Finn, Eddie Rayner and Noel Crombie, joined by Matt Eccles on drums and James Milne on bass. It marks the first time the founding members have performed together since their 2002 farewell tour.
Formed in Auckland in 1972 before relocating to Melbourne in 1975, Split Enz became one of Australasia’s most influential bands. They were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2005 and are best known for their string of chart-topping hits, including I Got You, I See Red, Message To My Girl and Six Months On A Leaky Boat. Their 1980 album True Colours remains one of Australia’s best-selling records, certified five-times platinum.
To coincide with the anniversary, Split Enz are also re-releasing Mental Notes along with their entire back catalogue as part of the Enzyclopedia series, available from 14 November through Chrysalis Records globally and Warner Music in Australia and New Zealand.
Tickets for The Forever Enz Tour go on sale to the general public at 12pm AEDT on Monday 17 November, with presales beginning from Wednesday 12 November via Live Nation.
