Lucy Durack will take centre stage at Manningham’s Carols by Candlelight this year, bringing star power to the annual community celebration returning to Ruffey Lake Park in East Doncaster on Friday 12 December. The acclaimed performer is set to host the event alongside long-time Carols favourite Richard Thomas.
Durack is one of Australia’s most recognisable leading ladies, known for major roles in Wicked, Shrek the Musical, Legally Blonde and Midnight the Musical. Her screen credits span The Letdown, Sisters, A Perfect Pairing and Doctor Doctor, and she has appeared as both a judge on Australia’s Got Talent and a performer on The Masked Singer.
“I can’t wait to see you at Manningham Carols by Candlelight,” Lucy said.
The event promises a full evening of festive entertainment, with Durack and Thomas joined by a lineup of local and national artists and a special appearance from Santa.
Thomas brings more than 25 years of stage experience, with credits in productions such as Mame, Sweet Charity, Follies, The Secret Garden, Les Miserables, Chicago, Rebecca, The Producers, The Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins.
Festivities begin at 6:00pm with pre-show performances and children’s activities before the main program kicks off at 7:15pm. The night wraps with a fireworks display at 9:30pm. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic or enjoy food from the onsite food trucks.
