Mumford & Sons are set to make their way back to Australia next year, bringing their new album era to Melbourne and Sydney in April 2026. It marks the band’s first full live shows here since their standalone Sydney Opera House appearance earlier this year and comes as part of worldwide touring for their upcoming record, ‘Prizefighter’.
In Melbourne, they’ll play at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday 25 April 2026.
The tour follows the release of ‘Rushmere’, their first studio album in seven years and the first created as a trio after Winston Marshall’s 2021 departure. The band have spoken openly about the new momentum behind their songwriting, crediting a refreshed creative spark.
“It’s been hard to keep this one under wraps because we’re about as excited as we’ve ever been to release a record,” they posted in late October.
They described ‘Prizefighter’ as their best music yet, thanks in part to working with Aaron Dessner of The National and collaborations with Chris Stapleton, Gracie Abrams, Gigi Perez and Hozier. “We cannot f…ing wait for you to hear it. ‘Prizefighter’, our sixth album, will be released on 13th February, 2026 and is available to pre-order.”
The band have already teased the new album with their Hozier collaboration, ‘Rubber Band Man’.
Joining them on the Australian dates will be Folk Bitch Trio, the Melbourne folk group behind ‘God’s A Different Sword’, ‘The Actor’ and ‘Cathode Ray’. Their debut album, ‘Now Would Be A Good Time’, arrived earlier this year and has cemented them as one of the scene’s most distinctive new voices.
Tickets go on sale at 11am local time on 5 December.
