Beloved Australian alt-rock outfit The Clouds are stepping back into the spotlight this November, announcing a short run of shows that will celebrate the songs that defined their career.
Dubbed The Singles Tour, the band will perform two exclusive headline dates, landing at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday 20 November before heading to Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Saturday 21 November.
For longtime fans, the setlist is set to read like a deep cut dream, with The Clouds revisiting much-loved tracks including Hieronymus, Red Serenade, Say It, Soul Eater, Anthem, Cloud Factory, Bower of Bliss and more.
The announcement continues a renewed chapter for the band, who marked their 35th anniversary with a run of East Coast shows late last year. That return followed their 2011 reunion and a steady creative resurgence that included the Zaffre EP in 2017 and a string of singles released across recent years, including Beautiful Nothingness, Check Us Out and Some About Your Love.
Formed in the late 1980s and rising rapidly through the early 90s, The Clouds carved out a distinctive space in Australian music with their blend of dreamy pop, angular guitar lines and hazy shoegaze textures. Their catalogue across Penny Century, Octopus, Thunderhead and Futura remains a touchstone for a generation of listeners, with regular rotation on triple j helping cement their place in the national music landscape.
The current lineup featuring Jodi Phillis, Trish Young, Dave Easton and Raphael Whittingham continues to channel that same chemistry, bringing both nostalgia and renewed energy to the stage.
With only two shows on the schedule, The Singles Tour is shaping up as a rare chance to experience one of Australia’s most quietly influential bands in full flight.
