Ember at The Continental Sorrento is giving food and wine lovers even more reasons to visit the Mornington Peninsula, launching a new monthly Winemaker’s Dinner series alongside two special events celebrating local wine, whisky and regional flavours.
Known for its fire-led coastal dining, Ember has introduced the monthly dinners in partnership with some of Victoria’s best wineries. Each event features a carefully curated four-course menu matched with premium wines, showcasing the best of the Peninsula’s renowned wine region.
The first dinner takes place on Thursday 30 July in collaboration with Moorooduc Estate. Guests will begin with freshly shucked oysters paired with Estate Pinot Gris before enjoying lobster ravioli with caviar cream and Estate Chardonnay. The menu continues with Tournedos Rossini served alongside Estate Pinot Noir before finishing with a blue cheese and peppered fig terrine paired with Magic Stalks Shiraz. The one-night-only experience is priced at $155 per person.
Whisky lovers can also book the Laphroaig Whisky Dinner on 7 August. The four-course menu includes dishes such as house-smoked rainbow trout and dry-aged Shimo Wagyu rump cap, with every course matched to a Laphroaig whisky. A Suntory Global Spirits Brand Ambassador will guide guests through each pairing, sharing tasting notes and the stories behind the iconic Scotch whisky.
On 15 August, The Continental’s Events Level will host the Winter Wine & Jazz Festival, bringing together 20 Mornington Peninsula wineries for an afternoon of tastings, live jazz and local food. Held entirely indoors, the $90 event offers the perfect winter escape for wine enthusiasts and weekend visitors alike.
Outside of these special events, Ember continues to showcase its signature fire cooking with steaks prepared over its Josper Grill alongside seafood, pasta and seasonal dishes, making it a standout dining destination on the Mornington Peninsula.
