Comedian Luke McGregor is taking an unusually optimistic outlook on the world on the road in 2027, with his new stand-up show, Gooood, heading to Melbourne and Bendigo as part of an Australian tour.
The Rosehaven star will perform at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from 25 March to 4 April, before returning to Victoria for a show at Bendigo’s The Capital on 28 August.
Despite admitting he is a serial worrier, McGregor is promising audiences a comedy show built around the idea that everything is going brilliantly, even if the world outside might suggest otherwise.
“Hi everyone, how are you? I’m gooood…” said Luke. “I’m a little worried about all the stuff that’s going on and that maybe billionaires don’t have our best interests at heart. But I’m sure in 2027, everything will be fixed and the show I’ll perform for you will just be a celebration of how great we’re all doing.”
The show will poke fun at the cost of living, technology and the things people might one day take for granted, imagining a future where everything is going right.
McGregor is best known for co-writing and starring in ABC comedy Rosehaven alongside Celia Pacquola. His television credits also include Have You Been Paying Attention?, Guy Montgomery’s Spelling Bee and Portrait Artist of the Year.
Tickets go on sale Friday 6 November. Visit Comedy.com.au for details and bookings.
