Australia’s favourite absurdist sketch group, Aunty Donna, are performing a one-off show at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne on Tuesday 7 May that will be filmed for an upcoming comedy TV special.
The yet-to-be-titled show will feature material from their recent world tour, the Magical Dead Cat Tour plus new material they haven’t performed live before.
It’s been a big few years for the trio who in 2020, partnered with Netflix for the worldwide release of Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House Of Fun, executive produced by Ed Helms and Scott Aukerman.
The series was coupled with a record-breaking tour of Australia and New Zealand selling out shows across both countries. They’ve also taken their Magical Dead Cat Tour to North America and the UK.
Aunty Donna exploded onto the Melbourne comedy scene in 2012 with their unique brand of surreal, fast paced, alternative sketch. Since then, their loud and energetic shows have toured around the globe multiple times, won numerous awards and amassed a worldwide fanbase including more than 2 million followers across platforms and 113 million views on YouTube.
