Melbourne’s Thai culinary scene is about to get even hotter as Longrain expands its CBD presence with a vibrant pop-up canteen on Little Collins St. This grab-and-go lunch spot promises to deliver the essence of Longrain’s renowned Thai classics in shorthand versions, perfect for a quick midday bite.
Picture crispy pork hock transformed into a mouthwatering roll and the iconic whole fish now served as crispy fish fillets. From famed curries to refreshing salads like the prawn glass noodles, the menu is a tantalising journey through Thai flavours.
Step inside and be greeted by a neon Longrain sign, signaling the start of a relaxed yet vibrant dining experience. Rich timbers, pops of green, and fresh produce adorn the cozy space, inviting guests to linger over lunch or opt for a quick takeaway.
With a focus on fresh ingredients and authentic flavors, Longrain Canteen also offers a curated selection of drinks, including Chang beer, canned wine, and Thai coffee. Plus, guests can take home Thai pantry staples to recreate the magic in their own kitchen.
Helmed by restaurateur Scott Pickett, Head Chef Long Le, and General Manager Natasha Firman, Longrain Canteen is set to spice up lunchtimes until spring, weekdays from 11 am to 2:30 pm.
And fear not, the original Longrain on Little Bourke Street continues to dazzle with dinner service seven days a week and Friday lunches starting from noon.
