After three decades, British ice-skating legends Torvill & Dean are set to make their long-awaited return to Australia for a farewell tour.
The ‘Torvill & Dean: Our Last Dance’ tour marks their first visit to Australian shores since their last tour in 1994 and will celebrate their illustrious career before retiring from skating together. They’ll be at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on 18-19 June 2025.
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean made their retirement announcement in February this year while in Sarajevo to commemorate their historic Gold medal winning performance to Ravel’s Bolero at the 1984 Winter Olympics – exactly 40 years to the day.
A tribute to their half-century legacy, this incredible show will give audiences a unique opportunity to experience and celebrate their iconic partnership for one last time in an arena spectacular.
The legendary British ice dancers are known for their innovative and artistic routines. Their partnership began in 1975 and quickly gained momentum as they rose through the ranks of competitive ice dancing.
After their Olympic triumph, Torvill and Dean turned professional, continuing to push the boundaries of ice dancing through numerous shows, tours, and competitions. They won the World Professional Championships five times and contributed significantly to the popularity of ice dancing worldwide.
Beyond their competitive successes, Torvill and Dean have been influential in mentoring and coaching new generations of ice dancers. They have also appeared on television shows like “Dancing on Ice,” where they served as coaches and judges, sharing their expertise and passion for the sport.
