Ballarat will once again be the centre of country football action when the V/Line Cup returns in September 2025, giving Victoria’s brightest young players the chance to shine.
Following last year’s successful carnival, more than 600 players, officials and families will descend on the city for three days of high-quality competition from 22-24 September.
Mars Stadium, Marty Busch Reserve and Learmonth Reserve will host the matches, providing the perfect stage for regional talent to showcase their skills. The event is expected to bring another economic boost to Ballarat, with visitors travelling from across the state.
AFL Victoria’s Greg Madigan said the historic tournament remains a key part of the football pathway. “Ballarat’s rich footy history, great facilities and passionate community made it a natural choice to host again,” he said. “We’re grateful for the ongoing support from V/Line and the City of Ballarat in making this event special for young players.”
Ballarat Mayor Tracey Hargreaves said the city was thrilled to welcome back the carnival. “After last year’s success, we can’t wait to showcase our venues again and see more future stars emerge,” she said.
V/Line Acting CEO Warwick Horsley added: “Watching these talented kids play is always a highlight. Ballarat proved to be a fantastic host in 2024, and we’re excited to see the Cup return.”
Now in its 76th year, the V/Line Cup continues to be a springboard for country footballers dreaming of bigger stages.
