If your idea of a quiet night out involves sequins, sweat and a little scandal, clear your schedule. International cabaret provocateurs Briefs Factory are bringing The Works to Spiegel Haus Melbourne, diving headfirst into their glittering archives for a late night edition that promises to be louder, raunchier and far less restrained.
This is not the polite, early evening version. The Works is an after hours fever dream packed with circus, drag and burlesque that leans all the way in. Expect fan favourites with the lights turned down and the heat dialled up inside Melbourne’s favourite new spiegeltent.
Leading the charge is audience favourite MC Shivannah, the razor sharp alter ego of Fez Faanana, serving sass with a knowing smile. Las Vegas award winning artist Mark Captain Kidd Winmill brings serious circus credentials and cheeky charm, while Dylan Rodrigeuz as Serenity and Luke Hubbard as Nastia blur the lines of gender and spectacle in performances that are equal parts precision and provocation. Benjamin Butterfly takes to the air with gasp worthy aerial artistry, and Hollywould Star delivers classic showgirl glamour with a modern twist.
Each week also features a special guest from the circus or drag world, keeping things fresh and unpredictable.
Born in the back room of a Brisbane bookshop in 2008, Briefs Factory has grown from cult club nights into a global cabaret powerhouse, often described as Cirque du Soleil meets RuPaul’s Drag Race. The Works continues that tradition, mixing jaw dropping physicality, filthy comedy and iconic fan dances into one sweaty, unapologetic spectacle.
Briefs: The Works runs at Spiegel Haus Melbourne from 19 March to 19 April 2026. Bookings at spiegelhausmelb.com
