Melbourne’s NAIDOC Week celebrations will reach new heights this July when Spiegel Haus hosts Gunuwarra: Deep Winter Rooftop Gathering, a free community event bringing together First Nations music, culture and connection in the heart of the city.
Taking place on Friday 10 July, the rooftop gathering will transform the venue into a vibrant space for live music, community and cultural celebration, with a line-up led by acclaimed DJ and artist SOJU GANG.
Joining the bill are FOSTERS, TREY, FAF and PVRTAL, while 2JOOCEEE, Jay Wymarra, Chris Saunders and special guests will host the evening’s festivities. The event has been designed as a community-first gathering that centres First Nations voices and creativity while inviting the broader Melbourne community to come together in support and solidarity.
Produced by Henry Fosters alongside Spiegel Haus Melbourne Creative Director Chris Mitchell, Gunuwarra aims to create a welcoming space where people can listen, dance, connect and celebrate throughout NAIDOC Week.

The event will also raise funds for the Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA), with attendees encouraged to make a donation when registering or on the night. VACCA works with Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities across Victoria, providing vital support and advocacy services.
Adding to the evening’s community focus, Aboriginal-owned social enterprise Clothing The Gaps will have merchandise available on site, offering another opportunity for visitors to support First Nations-led creative initiatives.
Spiegel Haus Melbourne Creative Director Chris Mitchell said, “We’re really proud to support Gunuwarra at Spiegel Haus this NAIDOC Week. Henry Fosters has brought together an incredible lineup of First Nations artists and community voices.”
“It’s great to see the space being used for something that brings people together and supports the work VACCA is doing in the community.”
Set against Melbourne’s winter skyline, Gunuwarra promises an evening of music, culture and community connection as NAIDOC Week celebrations continue across the city.
