A major new event for Australia’s creative community is heading to Melbourne, with the Creator Summit: Powered by Fujifilm set to take over The Timber Yard on Saturday 9 May 2026.
After a sold-out debut in Sydney, the one-day festival arrives in Melbourne for the first time, bringing together photographers, filmmakers and content creators for a packed program of talks, workshops, live shoots and interactive sessions. The venue will be transformed into an immersive hub where attendees can move between spaces, experiment with new techniques and connect with others working across the industry.
Leading the program are viral podcasters Toni Lodge and Ryan Jon, opening the day with a keynote focused on building genuine communities beyond the algorithm. Photographer Jord Hammond will share how he moved beyond influencer culture to create a purpose-led career, while The Daily Aus founders Zara Seidler and Sam Koslowski will break down the making of a modern digital newsroom.
Across more than 20 sessions, the lineup spans both practical skills and big-picture thinking. Sessions range from career longevity and creative risk-taking to hands-on workshops covering food photography, portraiture, action shooting and live video production. Contributors include Russell Ord, Dr Michael Coyne and a wide range of visual specialists working across different fields.
Melbourne-based creator Maddison Sullivan-Thorpe will guide the day, with attendees encouraged to build their own schedule depending on their interests and experience level.
Beyond the talks, the event includes access to a Partner Hub featuring brands like Adobe, RØDE and BenQ, alongside live demos and gear showcases. A Fujifilm House of Photography pop-up will offer equipment trials, exclusive deals and complimentary sensor cleans.
Tickets include entry to all sessions and a curated goody bag, positioning the Creator Summit as one of the most hands-on and accessible creative events on Melbourne’s 2026 calendar.
