More than 1,500 fans of cult streetwear brand Realism are expected to line up overnight for the opening of its first local store at Melbourne Central this weekend.
The store will launch on Saturday 4 April, with early arrivals expected well before dawn. Doors open at 4.30am, with the store officially trading from 9am.
The brand, known for its minimalist hoodies and strong Gen Z following, has built a reputation online that is now translating into real-world demand, with crowds expected to wrap through the centre.
The first 100 customers will receive an exclusive hoodie not available for purchase for free, while the next 100 through the doors will score a one-of-a-kind t-shirt.
Inside, the store is more than just a place to shop. It’s been designed like a cave, with textured walls and sculptural features that make it feel like you’ve stepped into a different world. There are hidden details scattered throughout that hint at upcoming drops and the brand’s backstory, giving fans something extra to look for. It all taps into Realism’s underground vibe, bringing its online aesthetic into a physical space that feels nothing like your usual shopping centre store.
