Melbourne is about to get gloriously chaotic again, with TSIM announcing their first national headline tour in more than three decades, including two huge nights at Forum this October.
The legendary Australian act, known for their balaclavas, razor sharp humour and gloriously unpredictable performances, are returning to the stage after acclaimed recent appearances at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s PICA. Now, the band are taking things nationwide with the newly announced No Mistakes Tour.
Normally known by TISM (which purportedly stands for This Is Serious Mum) the band is touring under the monicker TSIM for this run of shows (This Serious Is Mum??)
Set to hit cities across Australia between July and October, the tour will land in Melbourne on Wednesday 7 October and Thursday 8 October, with audiences promised completely different shows each night. According to promoters David Roy Williams Presents, TSIM will rotate songs throughout the tour, meaning no setlist will repeat in the same way twice.
That unpredictability has become part of the band’s mythology over the years. Since emerging in the late 1980s, TSIM have carved out a singular place in Australian music, blending dance, punk, pop and absurdist performance into something entirely their own. Their concerts have earned a reputation for equal parts brilliance and bedlam, with audiences never quite sure what’s about to happen next.
Across a career spanning seven studio albums, millions of streams and two ARIA Awards, TSIM have remained one of the country’s most unconventional and enduring live acts. Whether it’s spontaneous crowd antics, surreal theatrical moments or total musical left turns, the group continue to thrive on unpredictability.
The upcoming Melbourne shows at Forum are expected to lean fully into that spirit, delivering the kind of organised chaos longtime fans have spent decades talking about.
