There’s a new kind of recovery ritual arriving in Melbourne’s east, and it starts with stepping into temperatures colder than Antarctica.
At Eastland in Ringwood, wellness destination °CRYO Stay Young has opened its doors, bringing with it what’s being described as Australia’s coldest and only TGA-approved whole-body cryotherapy chamber. The futuristic looking °CRYO Arctic reaches temperatures as low as minus 140 degrees Celsius using 100 per cent breathable air, with sessions lasting just three minutes.
It sounds intense – and it is. But for athletes, gym regulars and increasingly everyday people looking for new ways to feel better, cryotherapy has become one of the fastest growing trends in modern recovery.

The idea is simple. Expose the body to extreme cold for a short burst and it triggers a natural response designed to increase circulation and reduce inflammation. People use it to help with muscle soreness, post workout recovery and energy levels, while emerging research is also exploring links to improved sleep and mood.
“Too often, we wait for a scare before we take our health seriously. Our mission is to make recovery and wellbeing part of everyday life,” said Satyapriya Pani from °CRYO Stay Young Eastland.
“Whether you are an athlete managing performance and injury recovery, or someone proactively supporting your overall health through whole-body cryotherapy, we believe building healthy habits is the best form of prevention,” Pani said.
The new Eastland space goes beyond cryotherapy too, offering infrared saunas, red light therapy and hyperbaric oxygen treatment as part of a broader focus on recovery and preventative wellness.
Located near Gate 7 on Level 1, °CRYO Stay Young Eastland is now taking bookings for anyone brave enough to test the cold.
