Bayside families have a fresh reason to head outdoors with a newly upgraded playground in Brighton East now officially open, unveiling a bold volcano-inspired redesign built for climbing, running and imaginative play.

The revamped space at Dendy Park South turns everyday play into an adventure landscape, with a fiery theme running through its newest feature, the Lava Game. Set across softfall rubber terrain designed to resemble flowing magma, the challenge invites kids to leap between platforms, scramble over obstacles and test their balance while trying to avoid the “lava” below.
Designed to spark creativity as much as movement, the playground encourages storytelling and role play, with children able to imagine escaping an erupting volcano or exploring a prehistoric terrain shaped by fire and stone.

An upcoming sound feature will add another layer to the experience, with a music ball set to introduce eruption inspired audio that brings the environment to life in new ways.
Beyond the play space itself, the upgrade also improves the surrounding park experience with refreshed BBQ and picnic areas, better shaded seating and upgraded pathways connecting key amenities including parking, toilets and shelters, making the entire site easier to navigate for all visitors.
