Victorians will be able to soak up the atmosphere of the 2026 FIFA World Cup without leaving the state, with live sites set to pop up across Melbourne and regional Victoria during the Socceroos’ group stage campaign.
Federation Square and AAMI Park will become key gathering spots for football fans across the tournament, while regional centres including Ballarat, Bendigo, Gippsland, Geelong and Shepparton will also host free community screenings.
The regional live sites will screen Australia’s opening clash against Türkiye on Sunday 14 June, giving fans across the state the chance to come together for the Socceroos’ first match of the tournament. Screenings will take place at Hargreaves Mall in Bendigo, Alfred Deakin Place at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, Johnstone Park Forecourt in Geelong, Gippsland Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon and Shepparton Showgrounds.
Meanwhile, Melbourne’s two major live sites at Federation Square and AAMI Park will screen all three group stage matches. Fans can catch Australia take on Türkiye on Sunday 14 June at 2pm, USA on Saturday 20 June at 5am and Paraguay on Friday 26 June at 12pm.
Throughout June and July you can also experience the FIFA World Cup live at the Bunjil Place Outdoor Screen in Narre Warren with matches being screened daily – find the complete list here.
The live sites are expected to deliver a festival-like atmosphere, with big screens, packed crowds and plenty of green and gold pride as supporters gather to follow Australia’s World Cup journey together.
Security measures will be in place at Federation Square throughout the event period, including fencing, entry gates, bag checks and hand wand screening to help ensure the safety of attendees.
Minister for Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said the tournament would bring communities together across the state.
“The World Cup brings us together and now the 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to our backyard,” he said.
“These live sites mean every Victorian can come together and be part of the World Cup.”
