Few Australian bands can claim a catalogue as deep or as beloved as Hoodoo Gurus, and this summer the legendary group is celebrating 45 years of hits with a special national tour that leaves the album tracks behind and puts the spotlight squarely on the singles.
The Hoodoo Gurus Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler will hit Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens on 6 December as part of a five-date run around the country, joined by fellow Australian music icons Ratcat and The Stems.
The tour marks a milestone for all three acts. While Hoodoo Gurus celebrate 45 years since forming, Sydney favourites Ratcat are marking 40 years together, making for a nostalgic night packed with songs that helped define generations of Australian music fans.

For the Gurus, the concept is simple. Every song performed on the tour will be a single release from across their four-decade career.
“We’ve often been described as a ‘singles band’, so for this Rewind Tour we’re gonna embrace that notion by only playing songs that were released as singles,” says Dave Faulkner.
“No b-sides, no album tracks, we’ll just be concentrating on the hits and quite a few misses as well!”
Faulkner noted that some songs initially overlooked by radio have gone on to become fan favourites, including Axegrinder, which remains one of the band’s most enduring live tracks.
The group hopes to perform all 42 of its singles somewhere across the tour, giving fans a rare chance to revisit the full breadth of the band’s remarkable output.
Since emerging from Sydney’s underground scene in the early 1980s, Hoodoo Gurus have become one of Australia’s most influential rock acts, earning multiple platinum albums, ARIA Awards and a legacy that continues to inspire new generations of musicians.
The Hoodoo Gurus Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler arrives at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens on Sunday 6 December. Tickets go on sale via frontiertouring.com.
