Queen Victoria Market is set to become Melbourne’s winter destination for truffle lovers, launching the Truffle Treasures Trail from tomorrow through to the end of August. The self guided experience brings together more than 30 truffle infused products, fresh Australian truffles and specialty traders, creating one of the city’s most comprehensive celebrations of the season.
Visitors can follow the Trail to discover Melbourne’s most truffle loaded toastie, fresh Black Périgord truffles, handmade pasta, artisan cheeses, truffle butter, gourmet oils, chocolate bonbons and even truffle cannoli. With entry level experiences starting at seven dollars, the Trail aims to make one of Australia’s most luxurious ingredients accessible to everyone.

Leading the experience is RIPE Cheese’s cult favourite Melbourne’s Most Truffle’d Toastie, layered with molten Australian cheese and finished with fresh black truffle shaved to order. Last winter more than 6,000 toasties were sold.
Owner Hakim Halim said the Trail reflects a shift in how people enjoy seasonal produce. “People aren’t just buying truffles anymore, they’re building entire food experiences around them,” he said. He added that the Trail brings together fresh truffles, artisan cheeses, pantry staples and indulgent dishes, calling it “a true celebration of Victorian food culture.”

RIPE Cheese will also offer its Truffle Fondue Baguette, fresh Australian truffles and specialty cheeses throughout the season.
Across the Market, traders will showcase products including Porcini and Black Truffle Tortelloni, truffle salt, artisan oils, truffle butter and truffles sourced from leading growing regions. Unexpected creations include truffle hommus, truffle chocolates, squid ink and truffle salami, premium chips and a truffle cannoli from Cannoleria.
