Melbourne’s much-loved Winter Night Market is getting a two-week extension, giving locals two more chances to enjoy one of the city’s favourite winter traditions at Queen Victoria Market.
The final two nights will take place on Wednesday 2 September and Wednesday 9 September, transforming the historic market sheds into a lively after-dark destination filled with street food, live music, fire pits, glowing light installations and plenty of shopping.

The extended season will also introduce [CARDCORE] Night Market, taking over almost 2,000 square metres with Australia’s largest free TCG and pop culture event. More than 75 vendors will bring trading cards, collectables and pop culture merchandise, alongside gaming competitions, giveaways, cosplay, interactive activities and live DJs.
String Bean Alley will also become ‘Gridiron Alley’ ahead of the NFL’s arrival in Melbourne, with an NFL-inspired activation bringing some American football energy to the market. On Wednesday 9 September, surprise appearances are also promised at the American Doughnut Kitchen van at 6.30pm and 7pm.

Of course, food remains a major drawcard. Visitors can warm up with Filipino charcoal-grilled skewers from Hoy Pinoy, smash burgers and Nashville hot chicken from Smashville, or matcha drinks and desserts from MeowMeow Matcha.
There’s also baklava soft serve from Soft Serve Lane by Mum’s Baklava, German sausages and pretzels, Wagyu meatball subs from Mr Baller, plus warming drinks including mulled wine and Campfire Cocktails.

For shoppers, specialty traders will offer everything from handmade jewellery and vintage fashion to pet treats and personalised keepsakes.
With the Spring Night Market taking a break this year, these final two nights are the last chance to enjoy the Winter Night Market before Queen Victoria Market moves into its warmer-weather events calendar.
