Queens Of The Stone Age are returning to Australia this December, bringing a huge arena and outdoor tour to the country alongside the release of their brand-new single, Easy Street.
The Josh Homme-led rock outfit will play six Australian shows, including a Melbourne performance at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday 13 December. Joining them for the tour are alternative rock icons Primus and Australian favourites Tropical Fuck Storm, creating one of the biggest rock line-ups of the year.
The tour marks the band’s first Australian dates since their acclaimed 2024 visit and follows an extensive run of international shows across Europe and North America.
Fans also have new music to enjoy, with Easy Street released today as the band’s first new material since 2023’s In Times New Roman…. The psychedelic, slow-burning track features guest vocals from Nikki Lane and was first performed during last year’s intimate Catacombs shows before making its official studio debut.
“It’s kind of a funny song,” Homme explains. “It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny.
“We made it the way you’d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren’t great, but they’re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can’t fake.”
For Homme, the imperfections are what give the song its character.
“It’s not just about silliness. It’s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.”
Artist presales begin on 16 July, followed by the Live Nation presale on 17 July, before general public tickets go on sale from 11am on 20 July.
