American Psycho: The Musical is returning to Melbourne later this year, with the hit production set to play at Chapel Off Chapel from 29 October 2026 before heading to Brisbane in early 2027.
The revival follows a sold-out Melbourne season in 2025 and will once again star Conor Beaumont in the lead role of Patrick Bateman after his critically acclaimed performance. Set in the wealth and excess of late-1980s Manhattan, the musical follows the seemingly successful investment banker whose carefully curated lifestyle hides a far darker side.
Based on the controversial novel, the production delivers a sharp satire of consumerism, status and masculinity, accompanied by an original score from Grammy and Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik alongside songs made famous by Phil Collins, Tears for Fears, New Order and Huey Lewis and the News.
Joining Beaumont is a cast featuring Mia Dabkowski-Chandler, Montana Sharp, Harley Dasey, Jake Ameduri, Meg Williams, Jordan Twigg, Aaron Robuck, Dan Ham, Elaina Bianchi and Lauchlan Mant, with Mark Taylor returning to direct.
Taylor said audiences had embraced the production during its premiere season.
