If you’ve ever wanted to front a live band, Hotel Esplanade is giving music lovers the chance to live out their rock star dreams with the launch of Rockeoke on Saturday nights.
Held every Saturday from 11pm to 2am in The Espy’s Basement, Rockeoke swaps traditional karaoke tracks for a full live band, giving guests the chance to perform their favourite songs on one of Melbourne’s most iconic music stages.

There’s no experience required, with singers of all abilities encouraged to grab the microphone and take centre stage. Participants can choose from an extensive online song list before the night or simply make a request with the band before stepping into the spotlight.
Set beneath the venue’s bustling Public Bar, The Basement has long been a home for live music, with its walls lined by vintage gig posters celebrating The Espy’s rich musical history. It’s a fitting backdrop for spontaneous performances, crowd sing-alongs and unforgettable late-night moments.

Rockeoke is the latest addition to The Espy’s already packed live music program, putting a fresh spin on karaoke by pairing everyday performers with a live backing band in front of a supportive crowd.
Whether you’re ready to belt out a rock anthem, revisit a pop classic or simply cheer on friends from the audience, Rockeoke promises plenty of laughs and memorable performances every weekend.
Rockeoke takes place every Saturday from 11pm until 2am at The Basement, Hotel Esplanade, 11 The Esplanade, St Kilda. Entry is free and everyone is welcome, regardless of singing ability. For more information visit: https://hotelesplanade.com.au/events/rockeoke/
