Randy Feltface is heading back to Melbourne with a brand-new hour of comedy, as the famously purple puppet brings his Gimmick tour to the Palais Theatre on 10 February. He will also have a show at The Playhouse in Geelong on 12 February.
The Australian comedian will perform 20 shows across Australia and New Zealand, with the tour kicking off in Wellington on 1 February before travelling through Christchurch and Auckland.
Gimmick sees Randy Feltface lean into the very thing he has spent years insisting he is not: a novelty act. This time, he is embracing the absurdity of being a felt puppet making a living from stand-up comedy.
The new show promises a fast-paced hour packed with punchlines, cultural observations and existential pondering, while deliberately avoiding the more emotional side of comedy.
Following the New Zealand dates, Randy will embark on a national Australian tour covering every state and territory, with stops including Canberra, Sydney, Thirroul, Geelong, Toowoomba, Caloundra and Darwin, where the tour finishes on 5 March.
The Melbourne show at the Palais Theatre is one of the biggest dates on the itinerary and is set to bring the puppet comedian’s distinctive brand of surreal humour to one of the city’s best-known live venues.
Randy Feltface has built a global following over more than a decade of touring, selling out theatres internationally and creating 12 solo stand-up shows and eight comedy specials.
His independently released comedy has attracted millions of online views, while his television and radio appearances have included Netflix, BBC Radio 4 and NBC’s Bring The Funny. He was also nominated for best comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
