Forget knocking on random apartment doors this Halloween. Docklands Primary School’s Year 6 students have dreamed up a better way for Melbourne’s CBD kids to get their spooky-season fix.
Partnering with The District and the Docklands Chamber of Commerce, the students are bringing a free Trick or Treat Trail to The District on Saturday 31 October. Designed by kids, for kids, the event gives CBD families a safe and seriously fun place to celebrate Halloween, with more than 1,000 little witches, wizards and ghouls already registered.
And the spooky fun starts before Halloween. From Thursday 22 October, The District will be transformed with giant 5-metre inflatable pumpkins and witch’s hats, themed shopfronts, entertainment and a Halloween-themed Melbourne Star light show. There’s also a photo competition, with the chance to win a $500 The District gift card.
Then, on Saturday 31 October, head along from 3pm to 5pm for the free Trick or Treat Trail, with participating venues handing out treats and a free kids’ ride on the new Melbourne Star, subject to T&Cs. There’ll also be a best costume competition with $100 The District vouchers up for grabs.
Stick around after dark for Halloween skating at O’Brien Icehouse, District After Dark parties and more spooky Melbourne Star magic.
