Melbourne Star will light up in the Los Angeles Rams’ Royal and Sol colours from 4 to 11 September as the city counts down to Australia’s first-ever regular season NFL game at the MCG.
The special display will be visible across Docklands each evening from 7pm, celebrating the Rams’ clash with the San Francisco 49ers on 11 September.
The light-up will also showcase Melbourne Star’s new state-of-the-art lighting system, giving NFL fans another way to get involved in the build-up to the historic match.
Jay Jones, Managing Director of Melbourne Star, said the display was a fitting way to welcome the NFL to Melbourne.
“We’re excited to celebrate the LA Rams’ arrival with a special light display that showcases the capability of Melbourne Star’s new lighting system,” he said.
“As Melbourne prepares to host Australia’s first-ever regular season NFL game, seeing the Star Illuminated in the Rams’ iconic Royal and Sol colours is a fun way for fans and visitors to be part of the excitement and count down to this landmark sporting moment.”
Stephanie Cheng, VP & Head of International, Los Angeles Rams said it’s incredible to see Melbourne embracing the excitement in such an iconic way.
“Seeing the Melbourne Star illuminated in the Rams’ Royal and Sol colours is a powerful symbol of the connection we’re building with fans across Victoria and Australia, and we can’t wait to bring Rams football to the MCG on 11 September,” she said.
The Melbourne Star display will run from 4 to 11 September and can be seen from across Docklands.
