Triple J is closing out its 50th year the only way it knows how – loud, live and local – with a national tour that lands in Torquay this November for a massive coastal finale.
The triple j 50 Tour will hit five cities across Australia, celebrating half a century of groundbreaking music, culture and community. For Victoria, the action peaks at the Torquay Hotel on November 28, where producer, DJ and performer Ninajirachi will headline what’s tipped to be one of the year’s biggest summer parties.
Known for her high-energy electronic sets and shimmering, experimental sound, Ninajirachi will be joined by FUKHED, IsGwan and KSMBA — a line-up that captures the diversity and creativity that triple j has championed since its launch in 1975.
What began as Sydney’s 2JJ, defying commercial norms and spinning banned records like Skyhooks’ “You Just Like Me ’Cos I’m Good in Bed,” has grown into a national institution. Since going nationwide in 1989, triple j has been the beating heart of Australian youth culture — breaking new artists, fuelling festival lineups, and soundtracking generations of listeners.
This milestone year has already seen throwbacks, tributes and a Hottest 100 of Australian Songs, but the 50 Tour brings the celebrations straight to fans.
From Hobart to the Gold Coast, each stop showcases a different facet of homegrown talent — and Torquay’s electronic closing night promises to be pure energy, blending beachside summer vibes with club-ready beats.
Tickets go on sale from 9am Friday, October 10 via the triple j website. Presale details are available on triple j’s socials.
