Preston Market is turning up the heat this spring as its much-loved Latin Day Festival returns on Sunday, November 9, filling the northside icon with the music, colour and flavour of Latin America.
Running from 8am to 3pm, the free community event promises an explosion of rhythm, dance and food – a true celebration of Latin spirit that transforms the market into a lively fiesta for all ages.
The main stage will be packed with entertainment, including high-energy performances from Bandides, who blend cumbia, pop and reggae with pure joy. Zumba dancers, dazzling Brazilian showgirls and salsa performers will bring nonstop movement and spectacle, ensuring there’s something to see (and dance to) at every turn.
Food takes centre stage, too. Market-goers can dig into Brazilian BBQ from BrazOz, Colombian bites from Colombiantojos, or crowd favourites like paella and churros from Elena’s Paella. Rustic Bean will be serving up smoky chorizo sausages, while pop-ups including Mr Twistino, Ziggy’s Hot Dogs and Dubai Delights round out a feast of global street eats. To top it off, Benzina Cantina will be shaking up refreshing cocktails to keep the fiesta mood flowing.
Families are well catered for, with free face painting from 10am to 1pm and plenty of space for kids to play while the music plays on.
From the irresistible food to the vibrant performances, Latin Day at Preston Market captures the joy and warmth of Latin culture in the heart of Melbourne’s north. For more information, visit www.prestonmarket.com.au.
