Melbourne’s love of a headline-grabbing pop-up reaches new heights in 2026, with Lacoste set to bring its global Le Club Lacoste experience to Australia for the first time. The brand is marking the occasion by installing a custom 20-plus metre floating tennis court on the Yarra, transforming Afloat into a French-inflected tennis club from 16 January to 1 February.
The full venue takeover will include a court extension built directly over the water, a Lacoste pop-up store featuring Melbourne-exclusive pieces, Paris-inspired food and drink, and big screens streaming the Australian Summer of Tennis. It is designed as a place to watch, play and lean fully into the city’s summer obsession with the sport.
Bookings to hit a few rallies on the floating court open 1 December 2025, giving tennis fans a rare chance to serve while the CBD towers rise behind them.
Festivities begin on Friday 16 January with a launch party soundtracked by Edd Fisher of Wax’o Paradiso and DJ JNETT, alongside Lacoste ambassadors and invited tastemakers. Expect a mix of Afloat’s trademark riverside energy with tennis whites, warm nights and some competitive on-court moments.
Le Club Lacoste Melbourne opens to the public the same day and runs through the height of summer. Read more and book online.
