A long-awaited major expansion of the Warburton Bike Park is opening next month, taking the growing trail network to more than 70 kilometres.
The new trails, set to open on 4 April 2026, add a significant stretch of riding to the purpose built park and push the project beyond the halfway mark of its planned 125 kilometre Southern Network. The latest stage introduces around 650 metres of vertical descent from the top of Mt Tugwell, offering a mix of easy, intermediate and advanced trails through the surrounding bushland.
The expansion is expected to cement Warburton’s reputation as one of Australia’s emerging mountain bike destinations, with new tracks designed for riders of all skill levels.
Among the standout additions is Shred Gallah, an advanced trail that delivers a raw, old school gravity style ride. The narrow track winds through flowing berms, rocky outcrops and technical rock gardens, promising a fast and challenging descent.
Another highlight is Mad Max, built with the flowing style the designers at World Trail are known for. The intermediate to advanced run features sculpted berms, progressive jumps and a long descent through dense forest.
Beginner riders are also catered for with the Easy Airflow Trail. The five kilometre route features smooth berms and rollable jumps designed to introduce new riders to mountain biking in a welcoming way.
While downhill riders will likely be drawn to the descents, there are also climbing trails for those keen to ride to the top. Earn Ya Ferns offers a challenging ascent that cross country riders, e bike users and those looking for a workout will appreciate.
To help riders access the new terrain, a shuttle uplift service will also launch on 4 April. The buses will operate daily during school holidays before switching to weekend services, running between Warburton and the Wesburn Park Trailhead. Bookings for shuttle tickets are now open.
