Avenged Sevenfold will return to Melbourne this October, playing Rod Laver Arena on 20 October as part of their first Australian and New Zealand tour in over a decade.
The arena run also includes stops in Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland, with Coheed and Cambria and Thornhill joining as special guests across all dates.
For fans, the tour marks a long-awaited return. The band last played Australia in 2014, and in the years since have released their eighth album Life Is But a Dream…, a record that shifts into more experimental and conceptual territory compared to their earlier work.

The current lineup of M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, Johnny Christ and Brooks Wackerman has spent the past few years touring the album globally, bringing a more expansive and unpredictable live show to long-time audiences.
Support on the Melbourne date adds weight to the bill. Thornhill continue their rise locally and internationally, building on the momentum of their 2025 album BODIES and earlier ARIA recognition. Landing a Rod Laver Arena slot marks a significant step up for the band, which has steadily moved from smaller venues to major stages.
Coheed and Cambria round out the lineup, returning after their recent Australian appearance at Monolith Festival. Known for their concept-driven releases and progressive sound, they bring a contrasting but complementary energy to the night.
With multiple number one albums in the US and a catalogue that has amassed more than a billion streams, Avenged Sevenfold remain one of the biggest names in modern heavy music.
The Melbourne show is expected to be a major moment on the local live calendar, bringing together legacy fans and a new generation drawn in by the band’s evolving sound.
Tickets go on sale 17 April at 11am local time, following a series of presales beginning 15 April. More information is available here.
