A new installation BioRhythm – a unique ‘living’ activation, created by Buko Studio in collaboration with Public Street – has been supported by the City of Stonnington and will be able to be seen at Prahran for a month from 17 April.
BioRhythm is an adaptable sculpture that comes alive by synthesising the biofeedback of plants and urban surroundings, transforming the data into living soundscapes and explosions of colour.
Sensors throughout the work interpret the biofeedback from the endemic plants and the surrounding urban environment into soothing explosions of colour and a constantly evolving light and sound show.
By blurring the lines between biology, technology and place, BioRhythm fosters learning and connection while igniting curiosity and discovery with the public realm.
Visit the BioRhythm cocoon, located in Grattan Gardens, Prahran from 17 April – 14 May and experience the phenomena first-hand.
All are welcome to use this pseudo-scientific glass cocoon as a meditative space to breathe deeply, relax and connect with nature. The installation has previously been on display at the Queen Victoria Market in 2023.
Open to all visitors day or night. Sound sensors will be turned off at 11pm.
