The highly anticipated Live at the Gardens concert series has unveiled its second major artist: Xavier Rudd.
Presented by Roundhouse Entertainment, the same team behind the popular A Day on the Green series, Live at the Gardens promises to bring a unique musical experience to Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens over two weekends in November.
Following the announcement of Matt Corby as the first artist last week, Xavier Rudd is set to take the stage on Saturday, 23 November.
Rudd, an acclaimed singer-songwriter known for his soulful music and environmental activism, will be joined by award-winning singer-songwriter Emily Wurramara and the Northern Rivers four-piece band, Calypso Cora.
Rudd’s appearance at Live at the Gardens will form part of his newly announced ‘Freedom Sessions Australia Tour,’ which will also visit Newcastle, Thirroul, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Queenscliff throughout October and November. He’ll be accompanied by Calypso Cora at all tour stops.
In a statement, Rudd said: “I’m super excited to bring this show to Australia after all this international touring. It’s my first chance to share this show on home soil after buzzing around America and Europe so it should be pretty slick by then.”
Tickets for the Live at the Gardens event go on sale to the general public on Friday, 14 June at 11:00 AM local time. Fans can also take advantage of pre-sales for Live at the Gardens and Roundhouse subscribers, beginning on Thursday, 13 June at 10:00 AM local time.
