Preston Market‘s much-loved Italian Day will make its highly-anticipated return on Sunday 25 August.
From 10am to 3pm, Melbourne’s favourite northside market will transform into an Italian festa with traditional live entertainment, Italian delicacies from pop-up food stalls and a free workshop for the kids.
The stage will be packed with an incredible line-up of Italian music and entertainment, with performances throughout the day by female string quartet Romanza, singers Carmelo Di Giglio, Tania Barbaro, Toni Marchi, Lorenzo + Co and guitarist Raffaele Basso. All performances will be sure to get the crowd on their feet, singing and dancing along to a repertoire of classic Italian hits.
Don’t miss Australia’s only vintage Vespa DJ, Moto Bella as they spin funky tunes from a fully restored 1968 blue Vespa.
There will also be an array of authentic Italian dishes from pop-up food trucks including Sorelle Catering’s indulgent zeppole donuts and Abruzzo Lab’s mouth-watering grilled arrosticini (meat skewers).
And if that’s not enough, there will be pop-up stalls from gin connoisseurs Ginduand some of our fabulous Italian Preston Market traders who will be joining in on the fun.
Kids can get in on the action with a pasta necklace workshop from 11am to 2pm, so there’s something for everyone.
