- The Greater Dandenong Children’s Festival returns from 16 September – 1 October.
- Accidentally Wes Anderson: The Exhibition opens on 16 September, showcasing a collection of more than 200 real-life images, unique in the way that they exude the charming and eccentric aesthetic of acclaimed film director, Wes Anderson.
A free exhibition is coming to ACMI in September celebrating the world conquering video game Untitled Goose Game – which was made locally in Victoria. It will will run from 17 September 2024 to 16 February 2025. - The Yarra Ranges Apprenticeship and Careers Night 2024 is on 17 September at Chirnside Park.
- The Fringe Flavours Night Market is home to incredible food, unique specialty shopping, and spectacular live entertainment. Partnering with Melbourne Fringe Festival, this event is happening every Wednesday night 5pm to 10pm, from 18 September to 16 October, at Queen Victoria Market
- Melbourne’s 3500-metre-square Italian food market – Il Mercato Centrale – will finally open on 19 September on the corner of King and Collins
- Join the Astor Theatre for a 30th anniversary SuperScreen presentation of The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert on 19 September.
- Garden lovers can enjoy a tour of the Government House gardens on 20 September.
- Help monitor the arboreal mammals, birds and bats that utilise the nest boxes and natural tree hollows throughout the Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary at the La Trobe University Bundoora campus during a “stagwatch” session on the evening of Friday 20 September.
- The Tidal Seafood Festival returns to San Remo on 20-22 September

- Discover the magic of Burrinja in Upwey at this special Spring themed sunset session on Friday 20 September and immerse yourself in an evening of vibrant art, lively music and tantalising tastes.
- Chadstone is bringing a special pop-up Hello Kitty Cafe to celebrate 50 years of everyone’s favorite feline. The Hello Kitty Cafe, opening at 10am on Friday, 20 September, will be set up in The Social Quarter at Chadstone.
- Experience Disney’s Beauty and the Beast the Musical like never before as you immerse yourself in Beast’s Enchanted Garden at Eastland these school holidays from 20 September to 6 October.
- The Festival of Cake and all things sweet is on 21-22 September at the Timber Yard in Port Melbourne.
- The renowned Pomonal Native Flower Show has been an annual event since 1983. Its aim is to showcase hundreds of named native flower species, all picked from local gardens, and to help promote the growing of native plants. It’s on this year from 21-22 September.
- The Warrnambool Running Festival on 21-22 September is a great event for runners of all levels. The course is scenic and offers great views of the coast.
- The Yea Garden Expo on 21-22 September will feature more than 70 vendors with exhibits ranging from bulbs, seeds, seedlings, flowering plants and trees to garden tools and equipment, garden art and ornaments, compost, fertilisers and more.
- Experience a culinary delight like no other at the Moon Festival hosted at the iconic Queen Victoria Market on 21-22 September.

- The George Pentland Botanical Gardens in Frankston are being transformed into a magical realm of light and wonder until 6 October 2024, visitors can immerse themselves in an illuminated sculpture walk at Magic by Moonlight, featuring more than 400 light installations and 30,000 light bulbs.
