The popular Route 800 bus connecting Dandenong and Chadstone Shopping Centre is being expanded to a seven day a week service – delivering more services and longer operating hours for passengers.
The first Sunday service will run on Sunday, 24 November – giving communities in Melbourne’s outer east better access to shopping and university precincts.
Route 800 passengers will have access to buses every half hour during the day and every 40 minutes in the early mornings and evenings on weekends – with 51 new services on Sundays and 37 services added to the Saturday timetable.
Operating hours will also be expanded, with buses running later on weekdays, as well as weekends, giving more travel options and better access to late night shopping, or transport home for workers and students.
Trips to Chadstone Shopping Centre will also be slightly faster with all buses towards Chadstone now running via the Princes Highway, while buses leaving the shopping complex will continue following the current route along Warrigal Road, which remains the quickest route in that direction.
This is the latest improvement to service Chadstone, adding to the Sunday services introduced on Route 612 in August, which better connects Box Hill Station to the shopping centre and Monash National Employment and Innovation Cluster.
Improving our bus network is part of Victoria’s Bus Plan to meet demand, enhance accessibility and performance, while delivering value for money for all passengers.
