A Dandenong Market favourite is celebrating a major milestone, with Dandee Donuts marking 50 years of serving freshly made, sugar-coated donuts to generations of locals and visitors.
Since first opening at the Market in 1976, the family-run business has become a much-loved destination, attracting customers with the smell of freshly made donuts and a recipe that has remained a crowd favourite for five decades.
Today, Dandee Donuts continues under the ownership of Susan Bell, daughter of founders Maureen and Dick Bell, who is carrying on the tradition her parents started half a century ago. The next generation is also becoming part of the story, with Susan’s eldest son Connor stepping into a bigger role after working alongside the family at the Market since he was around 10 years old.
To celebrate the milestone, Dandee Donuts will host a week of giveaways from Tuesday 4 August to Sunday 9 August. Customers who make a purchase on selected Market days will go into the draw to win anniversary merchandise packs featuring a coffee cup, beanie, insulated bag, key ring and sticker. Daily winners will also have the chance to receive a $25 voucher, while one lucky customer will win a $100 Dandee Donuts voucher in the final draw.
A limited-edition 50th anniversary merchandise range will also be available during the celebrations.
Ahead of the anniversary, Dandee Donuts unveiled a new look featuring a dedicated photo wall celebrating the customers, memories and moments that have shaped the business over the years.
Open every Market day, Dandee Donuts continues to serve its classic jam donuts alongside newer favourites including Nutella and custard-filled varieties.
