Legendary comedian, television host, and film star Rosie O’Donnell is set to make her Australian debut with her highly anticipated one-woman show, Common Knowledge. Following its debut in Dublin and a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the show will play two performances at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday 9 October 2025. Due to high demand, a Melbourne date has been added at Hamer Hall on Sunday 19 October 2025.
The show has already played to sold-out audiences and standing ovations overseas, marking the first time Rosie has ever performed in Australia. In Common Knowledge, she reflects on her life in the present, sharing her long-held desire to visit and perform Down Under, her move to Ireland from the USA, and how that shift has shaped her future. Audiences can expect a night of laughter, reflection, and insight from one of comedy’s most distinctive voices.
Rosie promises Australian audiences an unforgettable evening filled with heart, humour, and honesty. From pop culture to politics, her sharp observational style and spontaneous wit shine throughout the performance, delivering the raw humour and charm that have earned her eleven Emmy and Tony Awards.
“I am thrilled that I am finally making the trip to Australia which I have always only dreamed about! How amazing for me to get on the stage of the iconic Sydney Opera House and Hamer Hall in Melbourne performing for the wonderful people Down Under, it’s just incredible. Thank you Australia, I cannot wait to get there, see you in October!” says Rosie.
