Midweek plans are sorted for April, with the Hawker 88 Night Market returning to Queen Victoria Market for five weeks of street food, performances and late-night browsing.
Running every Wednesday from 8 April to 6 May, the free event takes over the market’s open-air sheds from 5pm to 10pm, turning the space into a busy hawker-style setup. Each week brings a different cultural focus, starting with a Pan-Asian Night and wrapping up with a Yin and Yang Finale.
The program mixes food with a steady run of performances and activities. Expect lion dances, taiko drumming, K-pop sets, Bollywood dance workshops and Squid Game-style challenges, alongside a cosplay parade on the final night.
On the food side, more than 25 traders will rotate through the market. Miss Wonton is serving crispy wonton tacos filled with BBQ chicken, pork and soft-shell crab, while Dragon Joe is focusing on rich laksa bowls with options ranging from prawn and pork belly to vegan. Durian King is bringing premium varieties like Musang King and Black Thorn, and Min Min Gyoza is covering handmade dumplings. For dessert, MeowMeow Matcha is leaning into matchamisu, matcha affogato and hojicha lattes.
Drinks are centred around Lucky Horse Bar, with a menu that includes a Pineapple SakeRita, a Lychee Soju Spritz and a Milo Dinosaur mocktail.
Beyond the food and drinks, there’s a mix of smaller experiences scattered through the market, including a Korean-style photobooth, vintage kimono stalls, custom keychain making and 3D printed toys. CARDCORE’s trading card pop-up also returns, with Japanese-style cars joining the display from week two.
