Fish Creek is gearing up for its most delightfully cosy celebration of the year, with the return of the Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival from 16 to 24 May 2026. For nine crisp autumn days, this charming South Gippsland town transforms into a hub of creativity, community spirit and playful imagination.
If you have never encountered a tea cosy festival before, prepare for something truly unique. Think handcrafted woollen creations, teapots dressed to impress and a warm country welcome that often comes with a generous serving of jam and cream. It is quirky, wholesome and unmistakably Gippsland.
At the centre of the festivities is the much-loved Tea Cosy Exhibition at the Fish Creek Memorial Hall. Here, makers from across Australia showcase their inventive designs, turning everyday teapots into intricate works of art.

From whimsical characters to detailed rural scenes, the craftsmanship on display is as impressive as it is charming. Beyond the hall, the entire town gets involved, with additional displays scattered through shopfronts and streets, encouraging visitors to explore via a self-guided cosy crawl.
Following a hugely successful 2024 festival that attracted more than 9000 visitors, this year’s theme Life on the Farm celebrates the region’s agricultural roots. Expect woollen tributes to tractors, sheepdogs, gumboots and everything in between, all interpreted with humour and creativity.

The program extends well beyond tea cosies. Visitors can dive into knitting workshops led by renowned expert Pru Raymond, browse local art exhibitions, enjoy live music and wander through a lively community market.
And of course, no visit would be complete without indulging in a Devonshire tea or two. The festival wraps up with a Sunday Afternoon High Tea on 24 May at the Fish Creek Bowls Club, offering classic baked treats in a relaxed country setting.
